Trip to Newcastle this Saturday:

We will be meeting outside the YUSU Student Centre (Goodricke) at 12.30pm to take a bus into town. We will take one of the trains that leaves around 1pm.

Once in Newcastle we’ll embark on a walk to photograph some of the old medieval sights including the walls and keep. When the sunset approaches we’ll try to photograph the Millenium bridge (see http://farm1.static.flickr.com/100/260646498_d6a8aa6091.jpg) and take some photos along the river. Then we can either have dinner or take the train straight back to York.

In case the weather is slightly damp we can visit some of the indoor attractions such as the Discovery museum and some of the galleries such as the Baltic Mill. There is also a large variety of pubs and eating establishments in the area.

If you are coming and would rather meet at the rail station in York, please get in touch so we can put your details on the travel form for YUSU.

A facebook event has been created here http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=55328108226&ref=mf. Please become a fan of our new Page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/York-PhotoSoc/52822554753) which allows us to keep better in touch than with the previous group.

Next Monday (16th March)

Matt Grum will be giving a talk on photography and light. Highly recommended – details will be emailed shortly.
