PhotoSoc Talk – Matt Grum on light
-> Monday 16th March at 8pm in D/056
The word “photography” comes from the Greek φώς (phos) “light” + γραφίς (graphis) “stylus”, “paintbrush” or γραφή (graphê) “representation by means of lines” or “drawing”, together meaning “drawing with light.” – Wikipedia
Light is fundamental to everything we do in photography yet the way in which it behaves can seem confusing at times. This talk will explore the properties of light in a non-technical way through the use of live demonstrations, and explain how this can be used to benefit different types of photography.
