Hi Everyone,
A couple of things for this week:
Firstly, our brilliant social secretary Irene is hosting this term’s social on this Wednesday, with the theme “Around the Word in 80 (alcohol) Units!”. Irene has provided us with what will be involved…
“It is once again time for a social!!! All the hoping, asking and begging has finally paid of. We have saved enough money to take photo soc on a tour around the world!! Put on your finest tourist apparel, hats, sunglasses, maps, beachwear? These are of course only a few suggestions, we want you to be CREATIVE!!! Think of everything you love/hate in tourists, we want stereotypes. And what could be more stereotypical than a camera! (Do you get the link? Tourist/ Camera? Photosoc- gosh we are so brilliant!) Dont worry about your expensive equipment, a paper/ plastic/ homemade camera is perfectly fine.
Meet at 8pm in Dusk for drinks and beautiful sunset on an (imaginary) beach, then we will head to Vodka Revs for Russian style vodka shots. After that I am thinking either Yates for some cheap English pub culture or New York 25 years ago (yes I am talking about REFLEX!!!). Then we will have some fabulous hours in Heaven (Ziggys) just to end the night in China- I am of course talking about the Willow.
Your personal Tourist guide (very well prepared social sec) will be leading you from one destination to the other, and hopefully ensure a safe journey, a pleasant stay and some brilliant photo opportunities
I am excited, I hope you are too!
Irene.”
If you are interested, (and you should be!) the put yourself as ‘attending’ for the event, which is on our Facebook page.
Secondly, we were emailed by the online company Tutor Link to say that they are holding a photographic competition, with prize money! The theme is “reaching your potential”, and the rules and additional information can be found on their Facebook page.
It looks like an easy one to enter, simply post your entry on their wall! Good luck to everyone who enters.
And lastly, just as a heads up, at the end of this term we will be having our elections for our 2010/2011 committee. We will give you more information closer to the time, but if you are interested in running for a position, end of term is when you will have that opportunity!
See you on Wednesday!
