Hey Everyone,
This is a bit long, but important so please read it through!
So for Week 7 we are having a Studio Set Workshop by Martin. It will cover basics on using strobes as well as an induction on how to set up the studio lights.
This would be an excellent opportunity for anyone who is interested in hiring out the studio kit but doesn’t know where to begin!
The workshop will be on Thursday 25th at 7.30, in V/123. [Note this is not our usual location, drop us an email if you don't know where it is, and we'll guide you.]
Also, for Week 8 we have quite a few things happening. There is Fusion, and we’ll soon let you know about how those who are interested can cover the event.
There is also an Outdoor Society’s trip to Ripley Castle which we will subsidise.
And most importantly, we have out Annual General Meeting and its also time for electing the new committee
[Day/time to be confirmed]

Reasons Why You Should Run For A Position:
1) It’s a great experience and tons of fun !
2) Looks good on your C.V-Build a diverse skill set.
3) You get to help the society grow in a chosen direction, this could be something that you are otherwise interested in but can now take up more seriously if you like!
We’ve been aiming at running weekly events, but this can often be challenging. However, how often events are held in the future is up to the new committee. What the committee and hence the society does, depends on how many people run for the committee and what they are interested in. Don’t stress out about work-society balance, as you will have the opportunity to prioritise your degree! And don’t worry about previous experience, individuals from the current committee and the past committee’s are always available for help, and you wont be pushed to do anything you are not comfortable/capable of. This is honestly a great opportunity for you to get involved in something you are interested in, and along the way meet a lot of new people, make your ideas come alive, and get more involved in this huge portion of university life !
Any member of the society can stand for Election! If you aren’t a member, you can always sign up at the AGM/Elections.
Remember: No committee members means no PhotoSoc!
Even if you are not thinking of running for the election [but you really should] please come to our AGM as we need a certain percentage of our members to vote. So come select your new committee
If anybody needs any form of information on the elections/positions, please don’t hesitate to send us an email, and we’ll get back to you asap !
Look forward to seeing you all soon !
Lots of Love,
PhotoSoc.
